‘moretechNYS’ is a project of FLR Grants, Inc. a New York corporation.

FLR Grants, Inc. was previously named Finger Lakes Region Rural Broadband Company, Inc. That company, and others in our group, participated in the large grant opportunities for rural broadband, pursuant to Federal grants in the years 2008-2009. Later, that company participated in rural broadband grant opportunities by New York State.

In 2021 the New York Comptroller issued the report entitled, Availability,  Access and Affordability: Understanding Broadband Challenges in New York State. In the report, the Comptroller provides a good blueprint for managing the 1 million homes still without broadband. 

The Comptroller’s report is an outgrowth of the efforts in previous years, to map and provide for rural broadband. With the introduction of smartphones, the report acknowledges that smartphone connectivity must go hand in hand with broadband connectivity to the home.

The board of FLR Grants, Inc., believes that, with its history of knowledge on the issue, together with its experience gained in private and public/private funding, and other technology advances, it can contribute to making sure that the 1 million homes currently unserved, achieve broadband connectivity.
